A wide variety of projects, diverse data and constantly evolving approaches – this is our daily reality as a knowledge service provider. Nevertheless, our projects in the “Data Integration and Consolidation” service area share a few common features.
- Small-scale and heterogeneous sources: our starting point is hundreds or even thousands of data records of varying origins and quality. In some projects, we work with hundreds of sources that we need to draw upon for the creation and ongoing updating of the data records. Fully automated processing would, of course, save considerable time, but is often simply not possible due to the diversity of sources and source documents.
- We must therefore always take a pragmatic approach: whatever can be automated is automated; whatever our research analysts can do more quickly and/or with better results remains manual work. At the moment, we are investing a great deal of time in testing AI tools within our processes.
- Careful verification and standardisation of data: Given this baseline, this is time-consuming. Especially as various stakeholders with differing expectations often need to be involved.
Our approach: Structure born of experience
A clearly defined process is crucial, particularly for large and complex data projects. Here, we can draw on tried-and-tested structures: our internal documentation and follow-up processes ensure efficiency and meticulous work. At the same time, our experienced research analysts possess the necessary expertise to identify automation potential and limitations at an early stage and address them effectively.
